KONTOKALI MARSH
The Kontokali Marsh is a protected, natural coastal wetland located in the suburb of Kontokali near Corfu Town. The marsh is a notable spot for regional birding and is officially monitored and documented by local environmental initiatives to safeguard its natural coastal habitat. The marsh features pockets of thick reedbeds and brackish vegetation that offer shelter to common wetland avifauna.
From the car parking area, walk to the right, as you look out over the bay, and follow the track until you get to a long pipe stretching out into the bay. Walk along the side of the pipe and climb over it onto the marsh, when you reach the beach.
Public transport:
No. 7 City Bus drops passengers at the main road of Kontokali and it is a short walk to the parking area.
