The Little Stint (Calidris minuta) is a tiny wading bird and the smallest shorebird regularly encountered across Europe. Measuring just 12-14 cm and weighing around 24 grams, it is roughly two-thirds the size of a dunlin, a species it frequently travels and feeds with. This highly migratory bird breeds in the Arctic tundra of Europe and Asia and travels vast distances to spend the winter in Africa and South Asia.
