Black-shouldered Shield Bug (Carpocoris purpureipennis)

The Black-shouldered Shield Bug (Carpocoris purpureipennis) is a large shield bug, measuring 11–13 mm, found in Europe. It is often purple, reddish-brown, or yellowish, with a wide 'pronotum' (the upper surface of the first body segment behind the head) that has blunt, black angles and antennae that are all black.
