Arachnids

Wasp Spider (Argiope bruennichi)

The Wasp Spider (Argiope bruennichi), is a striking orb-weaver found across Greece and Europe. Females have bold yellow, black, and white stripes, while males are smaller and more plain. They spin large orb webs with a zigzag 'stabilimentum', which is a silk structure in the webs of some species of orb-web spider. Its function is a subject of debate.

The Corfu Nature Website currently contains over 6,000 photographs of  more than 1,100 wildlife species found on Corfu.
