Arachnids

Crab Spider (Xysticus spp.)

Spiders of the genus Xysticus, commonly known as ground crab spiders, are ambush predators belonging to the family Thomisidae. Unlike the brightly coloured flower crab spiders that hide on blossoms, Xysticus species are usually patterned in cryptic shades of brown, grey, and beige to blend in with soil, leaf litter, and low vegetation.

The Corfu Nature Website currently contains over 7,000 photographs of  more than 1,200 wildlife species found on Corfu.
