Philodromus is a highly diverse genus of Running Crab Spiders within the family Philodromidae, named from the Greek words meaning "loving to run." The genus have distinctly flattened bodies, allowing them to squeeze into tight crevices on bark and rocks. They do not spin webs to catch food and rely on speed and camouflage to ambush their prey.
