Door Snail (Papillifera papillaris)

The Door Snail (Papillifera papillaris) is a small, air-breathing land snail native to the Mediterranean region. It is characterised by an internal closing device called a 'clausilium'. This species is also sometimes referred to as the "Cliveden snail," named after a British estate where it was discovered on imported stonework.
