Grasshoppers &
Bush-crickets

Greek Predatory Bush-cricket (Saga hellenica)

The Greek Predatory Bush-cricket (Saga hellenica) is a large, flightless bush cricket native to the Balkans, especially Greece. It has a striking green body, powerful jaws, and a sword-like ovipositor in females. Predatory by nature, it feeds on other insects, including grasshoppers. It inhabits dry, grassy areas and is one of Europe’s largest orthopterans.
