Egyptian Locust or Egyptian Grasshopper (Anacridium aegyptium)

The Egyptian Locust, or Egyptian Grasshopper (Anacridium aegyptium), is a large, solitary grasshopper found in southern Europe. It is characterised by its large size (females up to 70mm) and striped eyes. This species is not considered a significant agricultural pest, as it does not form swarms.
