Russula (Russula sp.)

The Russula genus is a large and diverse genus of mushrooms with over 750 species worldwide. They are known for their brittle, chalk-like stems and gills that snap easily. These mushrooms are common in forests and come in a variety of colours but, due to their sheer number and similar appearances, identifying individual species can be very difficult.

The Corfu Nature Website currently contains over 6,000 photographs of  more than 1,100 wildlife species found on Corfu.
If you find something new that is not in the database, please submit it to the website.
