Golden Ear (Tremella aurantia)

The Golden Ear (Tremella aurantia) is a gelatinous, jelly-like fungus with a brain-like appearance that is parasitic on other fungi, particularly the Hairy Curtain Crust (Stereum hirsutum) . It grows on dead hardwood trees, is golden yellow when moist, and shrivels when dry. The fungus is sometimes called "Witch's Butter".
