Long Hoverfly (Sphaerophoria scripta)

The Long Hoverfly (Sphaerophoria scripta) is a slender, yellow-and-black hoverfly known for its importance as both a pollinator and a natural pest predator. The male of the species is easily identifiable by its abdomen, which is conspicuously longer than its wings. It is a migratory insect with a wide global range across Europe.
