Heath Bee-fly (Bombylius minor)

The Heath Bee-fly (Bombylius minor) is a rare, small species of bee-mimicking fly native to Europe. Unlike actual bees, it has only one pair of wings and a distinctive long, non-retractable proboscis for feeding on flower nectar.

The Corfu Nature Website currently contains over 6,000 photographs of  more than 1,100 wildlife species found on Corfu.
If you find something new that is not in the database, please submit it to the website.
