Fruit Fly (Drosophila melanogaster)

The Fruit Fly (Drosophila melanogaster) is a tiny, red-eyed insect commonly found near ripe or fermenting fruit. Widely used in genetics and biology research, as it has a short life cycle and simple genome. In nature, it feeds on yeasts and decaying fruit.
