Band-eyed Drone Fly (Eristalinus taeniops)

The Band-eyed Drone Fly (Eristalinus taeniops) is a species of hoverfly, also known as a flower fly, belonging to the family Syrphidae. Its common name comes from the striking, vertical dark stripes on its compound eyes. It is known for mimicking honey bees as a defence mechanism against predators.
