Southern Darter (Sympetrum meridionale)

The Southern Darter (Sympetrum meridionale) is a medium-sized dragonfly with a slender, red abdomen and brownish thorax. Males display bright red coloration, while females are yellow-brown. It is active from summer to early autumn and preys on small flying insects.
