Ruddy Darter (Sympetrum sanguineum)

The Ruddy Darter (Sympetrum sanguineum) is a slender dragonfly with bright red males and brownish females. It is widespread across Europe, inhabiting ponds, lakes, and slow rivers with abundant vegetation. Adults are active from midsummer to autumn.
