Flying in May | June | and again in | September | October

The Small Skipper (Thymelicus sylvestris) is a butterfly of the family Hesperiidae. It is often found basking on vegetation, or flying among tall grass stems. Despite its name, it is very similar in size to several other Skipper species in Corfu. The male is distinguished from the female by the sex brand on its forewings, which is a slightly curved line of specialised scent scales.

The Corfu Nature Website currently contains over 6,000 photographs of  more than 1,100 wildlife species found on Corfu.
