Mallow Skipper (Carcharodus alceae)

A small, brown butterfly in the family Hesperiidae (Skipper butterflies)
Flying in February | March | April | May | June | July | August | September | October

The Mallow Skipper (Carcharodus alceae) is frequently encountered in Corfu but rarely in more than ones and twos. It has a very appealing deep brown colouring when fresh, but can rapidly develop a rather scruffy appearance.
