Cleopatra (Gonepteryx cleopatra)

A medium sized, yellow/orange butterfly in the family Pieridae (White, yellow butterflies)
Flying in February | March | April | May | June | July | August | September

The Cleopatra (Gonepteryx cleopatra) is a common butterfly in Corfu from late spring throughout the summer. The male and female are very different in colour, the female has pale yellow or greenish wings, whereas the male is a darker yellow with a pronounced patch of orange on the forewing that is easily seen in flight.
