Brown Argus (Aricia agestis)

A small, brown butterfly in the family Lycaenidae (Gossamer-winged butterflies)
Flying in April | May | June | July | August | September | October | November

The Brown Argus (Aricia agestis) is a member of the family Lycaenidae. It is a small butterfly that can easily be mistaken for a female Common Blue, and vice versa. Have a look in the 'Lycaenidae' section under 'Butterfly Composites' for a link to see a detailed comparison between the two species.
