A medium sized, white butterfly in the family Nymphalidae (Brush-footed butterflies)
Flying in May | June | July

The Balkan Marbled White (Melanargia larissa) is an easy species to recognise, both males and females have similar patterns, but males are more white than females, which are slightly creamy in appearance and are patterned in a dark shade of brown rather than the black colour of the males. This species is found in dry summer grassland and overgrown hillsides where flowers are abundant.
