Sanderling (Calidris alba)

The sanderling (Calidris alba) is a small, pale waterside shorebird with a short, straight bill and black legs, found along sandy beaches where it feeds by rapidly probing wet sand for small invertebrates. It is highly migratory, breeding in the High Arctic and winters on coasts across all continents.
