The term 'olivaceous warbler' historically referred to a single bird species, but modern taxonomy has split it into two distinct species: the Eastern Olivaceous Warbler (Iduna pallida) and the Western Olivaceous Warbler (Iduna opaca). Both belong to the family Acrocephalidae (tree and reed warblers).
