The Gull-billed Tern (Gelochelidon nilotica) is in the family Laridae and different from other terns by its thick, short, and all-black bill that closely resembles that of a gull. Unlike its relatives, this highly resourceful bird rarely dives into the water for fish, but uses its specialised bill to hunt across marshes, fields, and beaches.
