Grey Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea)

The Grey Wagtail (Motacilla cinerea) is in the family Pipits/Wagtails/Thrushes/Larks and is a sleek, slender bird with distinctive long tail feathers. Its plumage features a striking combination of grey upperparts, a bright yellow underside, and a black-and-white face. Often found near fast-flowing rivers and streams, it gracefully bobs its tail while foraging for insects. Its melodious song and agile movements make the grey wagtail a delightful sight in its preferred watery habitats.
