Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo)

The Great Cormorant (Phalacrocorax carbo) is a large, glossy black waterside bird with a distinctive yellow throat patch. It has a long, hooked bill and striking green eyes. Found in coastal areas, rivers, and lakes across Europe, Asia, and North America, this bird is an expert diver, catching fish with agility. Great Cormorants often perch with wings outstretched to dry.
