Eurasian Coot (Fulica atra)

The Eurasian Coot (Fulica atra), also known as the Common Coot, is a distinctive, slate-black waterbird belonging to the rail and crake family, Rallidae. Despite swimming like a duck, it is not part of the duck family. It is widely recognized by its stark white beak and prominent white forehead "shield".
