The Eurasian Eagle-owl (Bubo bubo) are year-long resident breeding birds in Corfu which are nocturnal and notoriously difficult to spot. They are often quiet during the heat of the summer before becoming more active and vocal at the start of the mating season in late winter and early spring. Juveniles and adults are occasionally spotted hunting just after sunset in late summer and autumn.
