Corn Bunting (Emberiza calandra)

The Corn Bunting (Emberiza calandra) is in the family Tits/Finches/Sparrows and is a stocky, brown bird with streaked plumage and a thick bill. Found in farmlands across Europe and Asia, it sings a distinctive, rattling song from perches. This bird primarily feeds on seeds and insects and is a familiar sight in agricultural areas.
