Eurasian Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs)

The Eurasian Chaffinch (Fringilla coelebs) is in the family Tits/Finches/Sparrows and is a small, colourful bird, males are striking with blue-grey heads, reddish underparts, and a white wing bar whereas females are more muted in brown tones. These birds are common across Europe, often seen in gardens, woodlands, and parks. They forage on the ground for seeds and insects.
