The Blue Rock Thrush (Monticola solitarius) is a striking, medium-sized bird belonging to the Old World flycatcher family (Muscicapidae). Famous for its affinity for rugged terrain and its beautifully melodic, blackbird-like song, it is also celebrated as the national bird of Malta.
