Beetles

The Red Palm Weevil (Rhynchophorus ferrugineus) is a highly destructive and invasive pest that poses a significant threat to many species of palm trees, including coconut palms, date palms, and Canary Island palms. The most severe damage is caused by its larvae, which burrow and feed on the soft, inner tissue of the palm trunk, often killing the tree from the inside before external symptoms are noticeable.

The Corfu Nature Website currently contains over 6,000 photographs of  more than 1,100 wildlife species found on Corfu.
