Beetles

The Harlequin Ladybird Beetle (Harmonia axyridis) is a large, highly variable insect native to Asia that has become a globally widespread invasive species. Also known as the 'Multicoloured Asian Lady' beetle or 'Halloween bug', it was deliberately introduced to many countries as a biological pest control agent. Its successful establishment in new regions has negatively impacted native ladybird populations and can be a nuisance when it swarms indoors.

The Corfu Nature Website currently contains over 6,000 photographs of  more than 1,100 wildlife species found on Corfu.
If you find something new that is not in the database, please submit it to the website.
