The Egyptian Desert Cockroach (Polyphaga aegyptiaca), also known as the Egyptian Sand Roach, is a species of sand cockroach belonging to the family Corydiidae. Despite its name, the species is found in Southern Europe and Greece. In the wild, they burrow beneath desert sand, loose soil, or rock cavities during the heat of the day to stay cool and retain water.
