The Dung Beetle (Anoxia matutinalis) is a species of dung beetle within the family Scarabaeidae. It is not a typical dung-roller but a phytophagous, or plant-eating, beetle, with larvae that feed on tree roots. Adults can cause significant defoliation in pine forests.
