Florentine Wool Carder Bee (Anthidium florentinum)

Anthidium florentinum is a striking wool carder bee with a black body marked by vivid yellow spots. Males are larger and territorial, guarding flower patches aggressively. Females collect plant fibers to line nests. Common across southern Europe, it prefers sunny habitats rich in flowers, especially labiates, which provide both nectar and nesting material.
