Bees/Wasps

European Wool Carder Bee (Anthidium manicatum)

Wool Carder Bees (Anthidium manicatum) are solitary bees found across Europe. Males are territorial, defending flower patches aggressively and the females collect plant hairs to line their nests, often in cavities. Both sexes visit flowers for nectar and pollen, playing a role in pollination.

The Corfu Nature Website currently contains over 6,000 photographs of  more than 1,100 wildlife species found on Corfu.
