Blue Cuckoo Wasp (Trichrysis cyanea)

The Blue Cuckoo Wasp (Trichrysis cyanea) is a very small, metallic blue parasitic wasp found across Europe. It lays its eggs in the nests of solitary wasps and bees, where its larvae consume the host’s offspring and food stores. Shiny and iridescent, it often curls into a ball when threatened.
