The Whiskered Bat (Myotis mystacinus) is a small European bat known for its shaggy, dark fur and the fine, whisker-like hairs on its muzzle. It is a member of the "small Myotis" group and was only distinguished as a separate species from the very similar Brandt's bat (M. brandtii) in 1970.
