The Four-lined Snake (Elaphe quatuorlineata) is one of the largest snakes in Europe, reaching up to 2m in length. It is named for the four dark stripes running along its light brown or olive body. It is non-venomous and docile, preferring warm, dry habitats like scrublands and rocky areas. It primarily feeds on small mammals, birds, and eggs.
