The Atlantic Blue Crab (Callinectes sapidus) is native to the eastern coasts of North and South America, where they are considered a delicacy. These predatory crabs have been found in the mediterranean and spreading throughout the area in recent decades. They are considered a very invasive species, feasting on many other marine life and are frequently found in waters in Corfu.
