The Red-spotted Plant Bug (Deraeocoris ruber), also known as Red Bug, is a medium-sized predatory insect belonging to the plant bug family Miridae. Unlike most herbivorous members of its family, this species acts as a beneficial biological control agent by feeding almost entirely on aphids and other small, soft-bodied garden pests.
