Marbled Bush-crickets found on Corfu primarily belong to the genus Eupholidoptera, which are known for their distinct marbled patterns and large, sword-like ovipositors in females. There is considerable scientific discussion as to the species found on Corfu because they are very closely related and accurate identification is extremely difficult because their physical features overlap so closely. They were previously grouped together as 'Chabrier's' but, for the sake of clarity, we have decided to simply call them all 'Marbled Bush-crickets' on the website.
