The Hornet Mimic Hoverfly (Volucella zonaria) is found in parts of Europe and, as it's name suggests, is often mistaken for a hornet due to its yellow-and-brown markings. It is harmless to humans, visiting flowers for nectar and pollen. Its larvae develop in wasp nests, feeding on debris and larvae.
