The Purple Hairstreak (Quercusia quercus) is a butterfly in the family Lycaenidae. It is rare in Corfu, and I have only ever seen it at the top of Mt Pantokrator and at Kyprianades Spring. Like most hairstreaks, it rarely shows its upper wings, usually resting with them closed, only displaying the undersides.
