The European Mole (Talpa europaea) is a small, burrowing mammal known for its velvety black fur, small eyes, and powerful, spade-like forelimbs. It inhabits gardens, meadows, and woodlands across Europe. Moles primarily feed on earthworms, insects, and other invertebrates found in the soil. They are expert diggers, creating extensive underground tunnel systems. Despite their poor eyesight, moles have an acute sense of touch and smell, which they use to navigate and find food.
