Woodlouse Spider (Dysdera crocata)

The Woodlouse Spider (Dysdera crocata) is a common spider known for its distinctive appearance and primary diet of woodlice.  It originated in the Mediterranean area but now has a cosmopolitan distribution ranging from Eurasia to New Zealand. Although the woodlouse spider is a dangerous predator to woodlice, it is not known to be a health hazard to humans.
