Arachnids

Gorse Orbweaver (Agalenatea redii)

The Gorse Orbweaver (Agalenatea redii) is a small, hairy spider from the family Araneidae. They are frequently found in sunny environments like heathlands, moorlands, and coastal dunes. They are especially associated with gorse and low-growing shrubs. Adults are typically active from April to June, making them one of the earlier orb-weavers to mature in the spring.
