Arachnids

Common Dewdrop Spider (Argyrodes argyrodes)

Dewdrop spiders are tiny, silvery cobweb spiders in the family 'Theridiidae'. They are often found in the webs of larger species such as Wasp spiders (where the photos were taken) and are often referred to as thief spiders. Their jewel-like bodies glisten like droplets of water, providing camouflage. Rather than spinning their own webs, they steal prey or feed on leftovers from their hosts.

The Corfu Nature Website currently contains over 6,000 photographs of  more than 1,100 wildlife species found on Corfu.
